Karp’s Roof Hatches, including the KRHA Aluminum Roof Hatch, now include heavy-gauge stiffeners for added support and stability, along with increased aluminum gauge for greater durability and strength. The exterior handle has been replaced with a push-button lock release located on the front side of the cover, shielded from environmental elements to prevent water accumulation and leakage.

All gaskets have been replaced with new, wider, and more durable gaskets to maximize the door/curb seal and ensure a watertight closure. All edges have been rounded for improved safety. The advanced assembly method reduces welding blemishes.

Roof Hatches are available in galvanized model KHRG or aluminum model KHRA and are finished with EPA-approved electrostatic paint.

KRHA Roof Hatch Specifications

• Curb:  12″ high, .125 alum., integral counterflashing, 3-1/4″ wide mounting flange, and 1″ exterior fiberboard insulation with corner guards.
• Cover:  .125 aluminum with 22 gauge galvanized liner.
• Compression Springs: Enclosed compression springs assist the cover.
• Hinges: The cover is mounted on steel butt hinges with a brass pin and includes a closed-cell rubber weather seal, an automatic hold-open arm with a red vinyl grip, and latching devices with inside and outside handles and a padlock hasp.
• Hardware: All hardware is zinc- or cadmium-plated.
• Finish: Prime painted with rust-inhibiting primer.
• Finish Option: This roof hatch is also available in galvanized finish.

KRHA Roof Hatch Options

• The cylinder locking device provides keyed access from the outside of the door. The night latch also has a small thumb latch that keeps the spring latch retracted, allowing access at any time.
• Aluminum is ideal for any installations or environments that require a strong, lightweight, and rust-resistant access door.
• To improve access and reduce door load, Karp can manufacture access doors in a double-leaf style.
